Joy Cafe!! Opening Day!!

Our hour and a half went fast today! We had a theme of "Love The One You're With". We got a lot of mileage out of that subject!!  Matthew 1:23 is "Immanuel, God with us." Our  ministry should be to the Lord first,  after all He made us in His image and He wants to have a relationship with us....we are so blessed!

I just jumped for joy as each woman came in, one by one! We had a variety of ages which I absolutely loved and we all enjoyed a rich conversation about the Lord and about the things which concern us with family and friends.

Then we had a creative craft time, making a valentine for someone special....I think everyone was delighted to get to play!  Then they all  got a yummy cupcake and we prayed at the end! You just don't want to miss next month! Get to know your sisters! Theme will be, "Titus Who? Titus Two!" There will be a prize for the most unusual earrings, ( I've already got in mind what I'm going to wear!) and other creative surprises! This is a very different bible study....but I can guarantee  that Jesus filled that place with His glory! He  had fun there! I look forward to seeing you on the first Monday of March at 10:30 am to noon at Caroline's Coffee (by the golf course, not downtown!) Say Hello to the gal who works there too, her name is Casey and she is a sister too! Love Ya, Penny

July 4th 2009 Freedom!!!

Believe me, I am not perfect, but I am not under the law. I am under grace. Eph.1:7 & 8 "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding." I got to share this with several of my bluegrass friends at the Father's Day Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley recently, (which is always held every year on that week-end! So much fun, jammin' and music!!)

And I pray that God will water the imperishable seed that was planted in them. I want them to know that most of all He loves...He loves like no one does. My husband and I were talking about that the other day and we both said the same thing, "I need to love people better". I don't know about you but it can be a challenge sometimes! (I am sure someone is saying that about me!)

God says that over and over, that you can have all the gifts in the world but if you don't have love, you don't have anything! I Corinthians13:1 Love never fails!

January 12, 2009

In my goals for this year, I believe the Lord is asking me to really work on my character. He has been faithful to show me things in myself He would like me to change, with His help. That's putting it mildly! I strive to have Jesus as my example and that is the highest standard, not comparing myself to others.  He is a kind and loving Father and is very patient with me. We are like letters that people read when they see us (IICorin.3:2) I am careful to not fall into self-condemnation for that is self-centered-ness and not God. When He says He forgives you, it is done! (I John 1:9) My goal today is to be a beautiful letter, so that when people "read" me they will see that I am written not of ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. Be encouraged because whom God loves He disciplines. (Hebrews 12:6-8) P. S. By the way, the Aglow Meeting was wonderful! Many women and a 3 men were blessed by the Lord.

December 6, 2008

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do at the Women's Aglow Meeting this Thursday, December 11. No one will be more surprised and thrilled than me! My husband Randy will be there with me, playing the mandolin. There has been an anointing on his playing since he first picked it up many years ago, so I hope you can make it!

Joy to you during this Christmas season! I hope that you will stop and remember as I frequently have to, and pray this scripture, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto You! "Matthew 6:33

Also, I read years ago that Ann Graham Lotz asked Jesus what He wanted for a present every year: something on the inside of us. For instance, one year I heard the Lord say, "This year let your light shine" Another year He said "I want you to ask me for more of My Love for others". Get it? So I challenge you to ask God this year!
